FarSounder

This year marks two decades that FarSounder has been dedicated to developing its unique 3D forward looking sonar technology (3D FLS). Back in 2001 the fi rm’s founders saw a need for a solution to answer the question, “What is in front of my vessel underwater right now?” This real-world issue has since been mitigated with the company’s innovative Argos navigation sonar systems capable of generating a true, three-dimensional image ahead of a vessel in real-time. Today, this patented technology is deployed in all of the world’s oceans working to keep vessels safe, detecting shallows and obstacles in the water column. Available in three options— the Argos 1000, Argos 500 and Argos 350—all systems in the Argos Series improve navigation safety by detecting underwater hazards and shallow bottoms up to 1,000m ahead of the vessel, and speeds up to 25 knots.
